Monmouthshire

Our home patch

Most of our work happens here, and the housing tells you what the job will be before we arrive. Newer estates mean Indian sandstone and block paving; the older stone and rendered properties towards the castle and up the valley need the gentle end of what we do.

Chepstow

Ten minutes from base. Sandstone patios on the newer estates, pebbledash and painted render around the town centre.

Caldicot

A block paving town. Estate driveways where the joints have gone, more than the blocks themselves.

Magor & Undy

Newer developments, mostly modern silicone render and block paving laid in the last twenty years.

Monmouth

Older stone and slate up the Wye valley. Lime mortar and the gentlest treatments we use.

Usk

Period property and river-valley damp. Stone, render and roofs that need care rather than pressure.

Raglan

Rural properties with exposed elevations and long gutter runs under tree cover.

Gloucestershire — Forest of Dean

Across the bridge, under the trees

The Forest of Dean is the wettest, shadiest part of our patch and it shows in the work. Gutters fill roughly twice as fast under canopy, north-facing roof pitches carry more moss, and autumn clearance slots book up early.

Lydney

Heavy tree cover. More gutter and roof work here than anywhere else we go.

Coleford

Forest town, high rainfall, and a lot of stone and render on older property.

Forest of Dean

The wider district — Bream, Woolaston, Alvington, Llandogo and the villages between.

South Gloucestershire & beyond

Over the Severn

Crossing the bridge is part of our normal round rather than an exception to it. If you have been quoted a travel charge by someone coming out from further afield, it is worth getting a price from us.

Thornbury

Twenty-five minutes over the bridge. A mix of period stone and modern estate housing.

Newport

West along the M4. Larger urban area with a mix of terraced, estate and commercial premises.

Bristol

The far edge of our range. Worth asking about, particularly for commercial work.

And the villages between

Everywhere else we work

These do not have their own pages, because a page with nothing local in it is no use to anyone. They are covered exactly the same way, at the same prices.

Why it matters

Local is not just about travel time

We know the housing stock

Which estates were laid with Indian sandstone and which with block paving. Where the pebbledash is. Which streets have gardens that green up twice as fast because nothing dries out between October and March.

Small jobs are viable

One set of steps or a small courtyard is worth doing when you are twenty minutes away. For a franchise driving an hour, it is not — which is why they will not quote for it.

Coming back is easy

If something needs a second look, that is a short drive rather than a scheduling exercise. It is why most of our work is repeat and referral.

Not within our normal coverage area.

For jobs at the outer edge we will tell you at the quote if there is any travel cost, rather than adding it afterwards.

Probably. We travel beyond these areas regularly, so it is worth ringing to ask.

If the honest answer is that someone closer would serve you better, we will say so rather than taking the booking and charging you for the mileage.

Yes, and it is one of the few things that genuinely sets us apart here. Most exterior cleaning businesses in this area work one side of the bridge or the other.

Crossing is part of our normal round rather than a special trip, so there is no premium for it within our coverage area.

Yes. Patio cleaning, driveway cleaning, soft washing, gutter clearance, roof cleaning and commercial work are all available across the whole area at the same prices.
