JPM Exterior Cleaning is an independent exterior cleaning business based in Tutshill, on the edge of Chepstow in Monmouthshire. It provides patio cleaning, driveway cleaning, soft washing and render cleaning, gutter cleaning, roof cleaning and moss removal, and commercial exterior cleaning, for homeowners and businesses across Monmouthshire, the Forest of Dean and South Gloucestershire.
It is Checkatrade approved, AEM CPD certified and fully insured. Quotes are free and fixed, and the person who quotes the work is the person who carries it out. Call 07947587517.
The person, not the brand
CONFIRM-10 — owner name has been cleaning exteriors around Chepstow since CONFIRM-32 — year established.
When you ring, you get him. When someone turns up to quote, it is him. When the work happens, it is him doing it. There is no office, no call centre and no subcontractor turning up in an unmarked van.
That matters more than it sounds. It means the price you were quoted was quoted by the person holding the lance, so it does not change when he sees the job. It means if something is not right, there is one person to speak to. And it means the reputation attached to the work is his own.
A real photograph of a real person is the single most effective trust signal a one-man trade business has. A stock image of a stranger in overalls is worse than no photograph at all.
Credentials
Exterior cleaning is an unlicensed trade. Anyone can buy a pressure washer and start quoting tomorrow, which is why these three things are worth understanding rather than just displaying.
Checkatrade vets and monitors its members: insurance is checked, references are taken, and customer feedback is collected independently rather than by us. It means you can read the reviews before you ever pick up the phone, on a platform we do not control.
Certification in the safe and correct use of exterior cleaning methods and chemistry. In a trade with no licensing requirement it is one of the few genuine qualifications available, and it is the difference between knowing which treatment suits K‑Rend and guessing.
Public liability cover, and we send the certificate before starting rather than waiting to be asked. Working at height and with high-pressure equipment near windows, planting and pets carries real risk, and an uninsured contractor transfers all of it to you.
Ask anyone quoting your job for theirs. If it takes more than a day to arrive, that tells you something.
Local, properly
We are on the edge of Chepstow. Most of our work is within a twenty-minute drive — Chepstow, Caldicot, Caerwent, Magor, Monmouth, Lydney and the villages between — and we cross the Severn regularly for work in Thornbury, Olveston and Severn Beach.
Which estates were laid with Indian sandstone and which with block paving. Where the pebbledash is. Which streets have north-facing gardens that green up twice as fast.
A single set of steps or one small courtyard is a viable job when you are ten minutes away. For a franchise driving out from an hour away, it is not, which is why they will not quote for it.
If the patio we cleaned in March needs a look in the autumn, that is a short drive rather than a lost day. It is also why most of our work is repeat and referral.
How we work
01
Quoted free, agreed in writing, and the figure does not move once we are on site. No day rates.
02
We test before we commit. Sandstone, render, concrete tile and tarmac all need different handling, and the same machine on all four is how things get damaged.
03
Before you commit, not after we have packed up. Old oil, deep-set staining and efflorescence all have honest answers, and you should hear them at the quote.
04
And if the weather moves it, we ring you before the appointment rather than after it.
Just as important
Both cause damage that costs considerably more to put right than the clean saved. On render it blows the coating off the substrate; on a roof it strips the tile surface and leaves it more porous than before. If someone offers to jet wash either, that tells you what you need to know about them.
A price given without seeing the job or photographs of it is a price that changes on the day. Nobody enjoys that conversation with the machine already running.
If a roof needs a roofer, if blocks are sinking because the sub-base has failed, or if a patio needs repointing rather than a wash, cleaning over it is a cosmetic fix that costs you more later. We say so, and we lose the odd job because of it.
Photographs show the work. Reviews show what it was like to deal with us, and those live where you can verify them rather than on a page we control.

What a great company! James provided a very reasonable quote covering both a patio and gutter clean and explained exactly what he would be doing. He turned up on the specified date, bang on time. My patio was absolutely filthy after a very wet winter but James cleaned it so well it now looks brand new. I was worried that anything he did may damage my border plants but absolutely nothing to worry about there. The gutter clean was just as good - no need for ladders, just a very long extendable vacuum piece of equipment that cleared all of the accumulated moss. Whilst the machine caught most of it, James thoroughly cleared the patio of the odd bits that fell down before starting the patio clean. The job was competed efficiently and at the price quoted. Very pleased. I’ve already lined up family and friends with James snd can’t recommend him highly enough. He’ll be back next time!Posted on Google![]()

James did a brilliant job of cleaning my driveway and all at a really competitive price. Fully recommend JPM if your driveway needs some attention. I will be using them again when needed!! Thank you
Common questions
This answer states the real figure once confirmed. We would rather leave it blank than round it up, because it is the kind of claim customers check.
Yes, for public liability, and we send the certificate before starting rather than waiting to be asked for it.
Ask anyone else quoting your job for theirs too. Working at height and with high-pressure equipment carries real risk, and an uninsured contractor transfers all of it to you.
It is certification in the safe and correct use of exterior cleaning methods and chemistry. Exterior cleaning is an unlicensed trade, so it is one of the few genuine qualifications available in it.
Practically, it is the difference between knowing which treatment suits K-Rend and guessing on a wall you cannot repaint.
No. The person who quotes the job is the person who does it.
That is the main practical reason to use a local business rather than a national franchise — the price came from the person holding the lance, so it does not change when he sees the job.
Yes, and we do it regularly. If a roof is sound and the growth is light, or a patio needs repointing rather than cleaning, saying so is more useful to you than taking the booking.
It costs us the occasional job. It is also why most of our work is repeat and referral.
This will state the actual position once confirmed. It is the kind of detail commercial customers and letting agents ask for before scheduling.
