Moss, algae and black spot lifted from sandstone, concrete, porcelain and natural stone — using the method that suits your surface, not the same jet wash for everything.
Patio cleaning enquiries are usually priced the same day.

Professional patio cleaning is a treatment followed by a clean, not just a pressure wash. The surface is identified and tested first, a treatment kills the algae, moss and lichen at root level, and only then is the patio cleaned at a pressure the material can take. That order is what stops it going green again within weeks.
We clean patios across Chepstow, Caldicot, Monmouth, Lydney and the surrounding villages. Quotes are free and fixed before we start. Call 07947587517.
The pressure washer is the least important part
Most people picture someone walking up and down with a lance. That is one step of four, and it is the one that does the least work.
01
We identify what the patio is made of and test a small area first. Indian sandstone, porcelain, concrete and old York stone all behave differently under pressure, and getting this wrong is how patios end up pitted and patchy.
02
A treatment goes on to kill algae, moss and lichen at the root rather than knocking the surface growth off. This is the step most DIY cleans skip, and it is why a DIY-cleaned patio goes green again within weeks.
03
Chosen to suit the surface. The pressure is set to the stone, not to the stubbornness of the stain.
04
Everything is rinsed down and we clear up after ourselves. You should not be able to tell we were there, except that the patio is a different colour.
Every patio material takes a different approach
Around Chepstow we see five materials again and again. What we use on each is genuinely different — and on two of them, the wrong method causes permanent damage.
By far the most common patio material around Chepstow, and the one most often damaged by over-enthusiastic pressure washing. Sandstone is porous and soft, so it needs a gentler approach. How we clean Indian sandstone →
Cleans up beautifully, but the jointing sand comes out with the weeds and the moss, and what happens next decides how long the result lasts. More on block paving cleaning →
Hard-wearing and takes a firmer clean. Imprinted concrete is sealed from new, and cleaning strips that old sealer — so it will look flat until it is resealed. Worth knowing before you book.
Modern, non-porous and the most straightforward surface we clean. The joints between the slabs are the weak point and need care rather than force.
Common on older properties up the Wye valley, often laid on lime mortar. These need the gentlest approach of all and the most careful testing before anything touches them.

What it costs
Patio cleaning around Chepstow is priced by area rather than by the hour. A straightforward clean of a sound, accessible patio sits at the lower end. Heavy black spot, difficult access and rear gardens reached only through the house all push it up.
We give a fixed price before we start, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. No day rates and no surprises when we pack up.
Size, surface material, how long it has been left, access, and whether there is water available on site. All five are covered on the pricing page, with what we will and will not quote for.
We do not write testimonials on a page we control. These are pulled live from our Google Business Profile, where they are verified and where we cannot edit them.

What a great company! James provided a very reasonable quote covering both a patio and gutter clean and explained exactly what he would be doing. He turned up on the specified date, bang on time. My patio was absolutely filthy after a very wet winter but James cleaned it so well it now looks brand new. I was worried that anything he did may damage my border plants but absolutely nothing to worry about there. The gutter clean was just as good - no need for ladders, just a very long extendable vacuum piece of equipment that cleared all of the accumulated moss. Whilst the machine caught most of it, James thoroughly cleared the patio of the odd bits that fell down before starting the patio clean. The job was competed efficiently and at the price quoted. Very pleased. I’ve already lined up family and friends with James snd can’t recommend him highly enough. He’ll be back next time!Posted on Google![]()

Common questions
Patio cleaning is priced by the area rather than by the hour, and most domestic patios fall into a predictable range depending on size, surface and condition. Heavy black spot and awkward access push it up.
We give a fixed price before starting, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. See what changes the price.
Yes, and it frequently does. High pressure held too close will pit soft stone such as Indian sandstone, strip the surface off imprinted concrete, and blow the sand out of block paving joints.
The damage is permanent, and a pitted surface holds more water, so the patio goes green faster afterwards than it did before. This is why we test the surface first and often use a low-pressure soft wash instead.
Once a year suits most patios in this area. Shaded, north-facing and tree-covered patios green up faster and tend to need annual attention without fail; sunny, well-drained patios can often go longer.
The climate in the Wye valley is wetter than most of England, and it shows on paving.
Most domestic patios are a single visit. Larger areas and heavy lichen take longer, and we give you a realistic time at the quote stage rather than a guess on the day.
No, provided we can get to the patio and reach an outside tap. We will confirm before we arrive, and send photos of the finished work if you are out.
Most of our customers are at work when we clean.
The products we use are applied at controlled dilutions and rinsed down thoroughly. We cover nearby planting and ask that pets stay indoors during treatment and until surfaces are dry.
Tell us in advance if you have a pond or a border you are particularly attached to and we will work around it.
Most, but not all, and we will tell you which before we start. Algae, moss, lichen and general grime come off reliably. Old oil, rust from metal furniture and some deep-set organic staining may lighten considerably without disappearing entirely.
We would rather set the expectation honestly at the quote than disappoint you on the day.
Spring and early autumn are ideal. Spring clears the winter’s growth before you start using the garden; early autumn removes the summer’s build-up before the wet months set in.
We work year-round, and winter is usually the quietest time to book.
